The powder-coated metal edge actually scoops up fine dirt instead of leaving that little trail behind like my old plastic one did. It's heavier than I expected in a good way, so it doesn't tip over when I set it down mid-sweep.

The oil-treated oak handle feels solid in my hand and hasn't dried out even after sitting outside all summer. I've swept up everything from wet leaves to potting soil and the metal edge still hasn't bent or chipped.
