Fatto a mano in Giappone da artigiani di quinta generazione a Miki, nella prefettura di Hyogo, questo splendido coltello pieghevole Higonokami in acciaio blu, dalla semplicità elegante, è tutto incentrato su funzione, forma e tradizione. Niente fronzoli qui: solo una lama singola in acciaio blu, affilatissima, alloggiata in un manico in ottone massiccio che inizialmente è brillante e dorato, poi invecchia lentamente sviluppando una ricca patina vissuta.

Il nucleo in acciaio blu della lama include un tocco di cromo, che gli conferisce un'eccellente kirenaga (cioè tenuta del filo), così rimane affilato più a lungo: perfetto per tutto, dall'apertura di scatole e lettere a un po' di intaglio in giardino.

Costruito con un'azione rigida e robusta che si allenta con il tempo (e può essere serrata con un colpo ben assestato sul rivetto), è uno strumento pratico e tascabile che è tanto soddisfacente da usare quanto da guardare.
