Bought this for our back door and it laid flat right out of the package, no curling edges to deal with. The jute has a rougher, more natural feel than the cheap ones I've had before, which is exactly what I wanted for wiping muddy shoes.
The jute and cotton blend has a nice nubby texture that actually scrapes dirt off shoes instead of just smearing it around. Three weeks in and it hasn't shed or flattened at all, even with two dogs running over it daily.
Didn't expect a doormat to feel this sturdy underfoot, but the jute-cotton blend has held up through a rainy week by the back door. It grips the floor well and doesn't slide when the dog charges in.
