Met het Compressioni-project herinterpreteert ontwerper Paolo Ulian de mogelijkheden van plaatmetaal door middel van een expressief proces van vormen en transformeren. Elk middelpunt begint zijn leven op een draaibank en wordt vervolgens zorgvuldig samengeperst om zijn uiteindelijke vorm te creëren—waardoor zachte vervormingen deel worden van het ontwerp. De resulterende plooien nestelen zich in onverwachte geometrische patronen, waardoor elk stuk zowel een gevoel van orde als individualiteit krijgt. Sculpturaal maar functioneel, is het Compressioni-middelpunt een stille viering van experiment, vakmanschap en de schoonheid van gecontroleerde imperfectie.
