Aluminium kan lastig zijn om te lassen en te schroeven. Daarom is voor het Rivet-project een klink-/penverbindingstechniek ontwikkeld. Dit was ook een manier om te experimenteren met verschillende varianten van visuele montage. Het eenvoudige ontwerp wordt met de laser gesneden en met de hand gehamerd, wat het in een categorie tussen vakmanschap en industriële productie plaatst.
The joinery on this table looks so clean from across the room—you can really see the care in how the metal meets without ugly screws. Understated but sturdy, and the finish feels smooth to the touch.
The riveted joints look sharp up close and feel rock solid when I lean on it. Assembly took me maybe ten minutes, and the aluminium’s got a nice brushed finish that catches the light in my living room.
The tenon construction caught my eye immediately—it’s such a clever workaround for aluminum’s fussiness, and the joints look almost sculptural up close. I’ve had it next to my couch for two weeks now, and it feels solid enough to lean on without a wobble.
