Aluminium kan være vanskelig å sveise og skru. Med det i tankene ble en nagling/tapp-teknikk utviklet for Rivet-prosjektet. Dette var også en måte å eksperimentere med ulike varianter av visuell montering. Det enkle designet er laserskåret og hamret for hånd, noe som plasserer det i en kategori mellom håndverk og industriell produksjon.
The joinery on this table looks so clean from across the room—you can really see the care in how the metal meets without ugly screws. Understated but sturdy, and the finish feels smooth to the touch.
The riveted joints look sharp up close and feel rock solid when I lean on it. Assembly took me maybe ten minutes, and the aluminium’s got a nice brushed finish that catches the light in my living room.
The tenon construction caught my eye immediately—it’s such a clever workaround for aluminum’s fussiness, and the joints look almost sculptural up close. I’ve had it next to my couch for two weeks now, and it feels solid enough to lean on without a wobble.
