Didn't expect the chickadees to figure it out this fast, but they're clinging to the sides within a day. The terracotta has a nice weight so it doesn't swing around when the bigger birds land.
The terracotta finish looks way nicer hanging in my yard than the plastic feeder it replaced, and the chickadees figured it out within a day. The perch design really does suit the clingers—woodpeckers and titmice land on it constantly now.
The woodpeckers took to it right away, and the terracotta color blends nicely against the fence. Only wish the perch ring were a touch wider, since the bigger finches look a bit cramped landing on it.
